| On a trip to Cancun, Mexico, we deicded to take a side-trip to one of the most interesting archaeological site built by the Maya civilization - Chichen Itza. |

| El Castillo (the castle) is a step pyramid at the center of the site, also known as the temple of Kukulkan. |
|
 |

|
 |
| This is a very popular excursion for visitors vacationing in Cancun, and there are plenty of tour buses bringing tourist to visit this important Mayan heritage site. |
|
 |
| Some visitors drive their rental cars to Chichen Itza, but most visitors join the many escorted tour. |
|
 |
| The temperature on the day of our visit is only around 85 degrees F, but Alex is feeling the heat. |
